Exactly what it says on the tin! I'm looking to get one would be really interested in what others have and would recommend.
What's the video quality like?
How easy to operate whilst riding?
How easy to attach to helmet?
How much was it?
Many thanks

What's the video quality like? Realy great HD Video.
How easy to operate whilst riding? Super simple, you press a wee slider button and the full thing vibrates to let you know that its on. You slide it back to swtich it off, and it vibrates twice.
How easy to attach to helmet? Simple, I have it on an elasticated head strap, which keeps it really secure but avoids sticking or drilling your hat.

Has the added benefit of being waterproof, and able to take hd stills :)

GoPro, it's expensive but the best IMO. It's easy to attach to the helmet with an elasticated 'head strap' and stays put, excellent quality footage and fairly simple to use. The only thing is that the footage quality is so high that you need a lot of room on your computer to save and edit clips and you will usually have to lose some quality when uploading videos online, unless you have an excellent connection.

Thanks for answers everyone. Go pro is my top choice, although potentially I think it might be to high spec for what I need, hence looking for alternatives.
Thinking about the helmet-cam range, of anyone has used these?
Hadn't heard of either the chilli-tech or ion so will look into these, thanks :)

Bought a Rollei action cam just b4 Xmas, £96 as it was the old model being sold on.
Its easy to use, amazing quality & it even has a waterproof case suitable for diving. Amazing piece of kit, every bit as good as my friends gopro.

HedCam Ten80 for me. perfect HD, small and lightweight.
No point in paying £400 for a toy anymore!!
I doubt BE/BD/RC/PC etc. will be letting you use them again anytime soon!

I would seriously suggest borrowing a friends go pro for trialing it on your helmet - that or try 152grammes on your forhead, i found it restricting!

Go Pro every time! you can get so many different mounts for them easily and it's really simple to use when it's strapped to your head. Expensive but so worth it, has better quality than my proper video camera and you can pause the videos to still get a non-blurry photo if you want.

Example video from go pro doing the RAF Halton Sponsored ride : )

Edit- On video change the quality to 1080p to get the good video playback!

I'd recommend Contour over GoPro if you're going to strap it to a hat. It had a lower profile and simple on/off sliding switch to preserve battery life. The two cameras use the same lens.

I'd recommend the GoPro with chest mount for horse riding though as it produces a more stable picture and features the horses ears!

I'm a cheap skate so bought the Chinese copy of the GoPro. Google sj4000. About £60 - £70 off Ebay. Plastic lens instead of glass and a slightly lower quality of materials but otherwise identical. Why pay more? In fact, I just bought a second. From the reviews, I gather the video footage is the same quality as the GoPro and the accessories are interchangeable.
