Not many Horse Trials.

I remember Kinlet Park was always Easter Saturday, a very nice course and fairly local. And a young Doublet being ridden by Richard Walker (?) Also an visiting American going a over t at the very last fence, a useful lesson for those of us watching, although sad for the competitor.

I would love to go to the Lambourn Open Day but don't know if I can make the arrangements at short notice.

There is a point to point about 30 miles away, but that is about all I can see.

I am always surprised that there isn't more horse activity over this weekend.

Depends on your area. We have both an HT and a point 2 point as well as a fair range of both affiliated and unaffiliated. Busy for us!

Many of the Lambourn open day activities (anything in the arena area) have been cancelled due to the wet ground anyway. It's only the yard visits now. I see Goring Heath has also cancelled. I suspect our local P2P (which should be on Easter Monday) will go the same way, or have tiny fields. It's miserable, bring on summer!!!

Agree with everyone, this weather is horrid and my stiff upper-lip is certainly growing weak! re Lambourn open day, only nicky hendersons yard is open it has been released on the open day website. Hopefully the Point to Point at Lockinge will go ahead, the ground drains well so fingers crossed there!

It's the car park that I worry about, I did gallop up it the other day and it wasn't too bad. Also the field sizes have been tiny the last two years, particularly in 2016 when it was muddy, not to mention the horse that was PTS last year :(

I have been lucky previous years as my parents normally man a fence so have missed the car park - though as you say, once wet and muddy could be difficult. I suppose the main difference this year is with so many others cancelling due to weather it could boost the field sizes, I hope so anyway!

There wasn't that much on locally. A hunter trial but that has cancelled and a ride on Sunday but given the rain today with more forecast, I can't see how parking on grass will work
