if any??

I don't have a towing license and have only been driving for 6/7 years.

I am considering transport options and a trailer seems like too much hassle considering the cost of buying one, upgrading my car (I drive a Micra!) and then sitting the test to be able to tow in (my friend forked out over £500 on lessons and test)

It was suggested that there may be small horseboxes that could carry my 15h HW cob and that I could drive without taking the towing test and I think this may be more economical than going down the trailer route although I know there will be more maintainance required with the horse box.

I'm in the very, very early stages of looking but don't have a clue where to start - any suggestions of any to look into?

They don't just carry ponies.

If finances permit you can drive a 3.5 tonne Theault with a 1.1 tonne payload and sufficient height for a 17.1.

echo what others have said re 3.5 tonne thing which is enough for 2 small horses or one huge one!
i would definitely go for the horsebox over a trailor - i made this mistake and rushed into getting a trailor and it is such a pain to hitch and manoevre - wish i'd gone for a box instead.
there's loads on the classifieds on h&h or horsemart.
