Just inspected my hands and found no fewer than 11 splinters and a small hayseed deeply embedded in them...

I didnt even notice!!! Anyone else have hands of steel thanks to our equine friends???

Must say it's not the nicest thing to realise!!!

What I hate about winter:

Hay and straw stuck in socks and working its way through clothes and stabbling you when you are at your most comfortable.

Getting to the yard in daylight...leaving 45 mins later in pitch darkness

Not feeling your toes until at least an hour after I arrive home...

My coffee freezing in the mug! Not great!
I stink constantly, and have a bruised behind from slipping over on the yard!
I also have splinters, cant dig them out as my skin has healed over them! I have a thorn down one thumb nail, and what looks like a hair splinter (christ knows how, I havent clipped since mid Nov!) down the side of my pinky finger nail - very sore!!

Is that bad?

Oh, BTW, if you really had hands of steel - you wouldn't get splinters - I'll get me coat.

Lol!!! Good point- to rephrase, 'I have hands with the feeling of steel but not the texture or consistancy' so neh :-p

And yes, it's bad smelling of horsemuck (or merely being paranoid about) in a customer facing job- especially when dealing with cute ones lol!!

Living in a little village and the council have forgotton to grit us, plough the road nothing!!!!

And I wish I was older I have missed so much work because of this weather and I cannot get insured on my mums 4x4 :(
