I take mine for in-hand walks around the lanes and possibly tackle a bridleway if I'm feeling brave/foolish (they are steep).
I have done sessions with walking them through the ford. It's only a small one, but one riding route that they will do in the future, has a big ford with no bridge as an alternative.
Walking over trotting poles and weaving around cones. Standing/walking on/trotting etc... when asked.
I discovered yesterday that the gelding doesn't like lambs, so he's going to be walked past the sheep fields again this afternoon.
