Cadging a lift to a show in early April, going to take my rising 4 welsh, Cassie.
It's her first party and so I'm planning on her being a little over excited, my friends classes start at around midday and end as one of the last of the day so I'll have a good few hours for her to have a look around and if she settles down towards the end of the day I'm thinking I might enter her into an inhand class.
There's no pressure on her but if she settles properly I think it would be nice to have a go, only thing is I'm stuck between two classes which are Riding Pony or Best Condition Pony.

They are both one after the other so the time before to settle is no different.
I'd like to keep her mane long and unplaited (although will be thinned and tidied), is this something that would be looked down on in the Riding pony class?
(her full mane is on the other side of her neck btw, the bit you can see is just where it has grown all over the place over winter :redface3: )

Riding pony classes are for show ponies strictly speaking. At local shows though the class title gets commonly interpreted as 'a pony that can be ridden' or in other words a free for all!

If it says Riding Club Pony or Ridden Pony then its obviously not a show pony class

Depending on the show you may be hopelessly outclassed or absolutely fine

If in doubt go for the best condition class!

Think I will go with the Best condition then, I was wondering if it would be more show pony related or like a riding club pony class as the schedule is lacking much info!
Just hope she has fun, she will be absolutely blown away by seeing new horses, she lives quite the sheltered life :p
With the best condition, would a tweed set up be best or a navy?
