You must have one thing about other 'horsepeople' that annoys you the most?

Mine are

Riding: Bad hands - especially those riders who ride around looking like they are scratching their Fufulala! And Sawing in the gob poeple

Ground: People who do not establish good groundwork - tying horses up to be groomed, skipped out for example. It really gets my goat when people are skipping out etc and are shouting at the horse for trying to barge out the stable for example - just tie the bloody thing up!

What are yours?

Can't think of irritating horsey people the irritating people at work are doing my head in too much right now!
mad.gif

people who don't help out novices, or think they are better than them (well they are, but you know what i mean!) we were all learners once! don't like arrogance

people who stick mountains of gadgets on the horse because they are to bone idle/ignorant to go back to basics.

People who treat horses like people not horses and give them imagined likes and dislikes, as in doesnt like those horses as they are common (of gypsy ponies) or they must come in as it is wet .... the list is endless or I am very intollerent

People who can't be bothered to manage their laminitics properly and let them succumb again and again
mad.gif
.

People who put off their horses' shoeing for so long that the shoes start to fall off and then expect the farrier to come out the next day
mad.gif

People who type the title of their threads in CAPITAL LETTERS

Ditto, people who don't help novices, or who look down on people for not having a 17hh Tb or WB. No one is so good they can't hit the decks backside first
grin.gif

People who overgadget their horses.

Kids who ride dangerously with no supervision.

People who hog the school.

People who 'borrow' your tack/equipment and then it never returns.

Know it alls who know very little. (I'm all for genuine help)

buckets/brushes/equipment left lying everywhere

Leaving droppings in the school.

Leaving jump cups on the wings.

Not poo picking fields that need done.

Not checking other people's horses when you're going to get your own anyway. (ie a glance over them to make sure they don't have a leg hanging off)

The bitchiness. I will quite happily put up with the above and not say anything unless it directly affects me and the enjoyment of my horse. I hate backstabbing, whingy people and the horse world seems to attract a few of them!

Tehe I have got a 17.3 and a bithh warmblood but have an adoration for hairy ponies and coloureds. It irritates me when people assume because they have WB's they are up their own arse....not the case, as far as I can see.

The up their are people tend to be the ones with more money than sense who own a horse (be it a wb/tb/hairy cob) that completely does not suit the needs of the rider, either becasue it is too flash, or too honest, and therefore compensates for the complete lack of skill of the rider (making the rider look good and therefore think they are a s**t hot rider and better than everyone else)
grin.gif

id love a WB cus thats the kind of horse i like, i prefer them to cobs anyway. but i am the least 'up my ass' person, i learnt to ride on cobs and hairy ponies so im not gonna go all snobby over em! id be glad to help anyone, cept novices who cant accept they are novices, if you know what i mean

oh and people who dont realise how lucky they are that they actually have horses/ponies. im gonna get jumped on now i spose, but i cant stand kids (or adults!) who are like 'oh no daddy said he couldn't buy me a new pony' when they already have one, or two ponies

People who muck out and leave the wheelbarrow half full while they ride or even go off somewhere. Empty the thing straight away!
People who don't check the water in the fields and just leave it for someone else (me) to fill up every time. Your horse drinks too you know!
People who use my poly poles as trotting poles even though they have been asked not to.
People who ride constantly in draw reins/mkt harboroughs. If the horse hasn't learnt how to work properly by now I don't think that gadget is working!

I hate novices! They should all be banned! They ask ridiculous questions like 'Excuse me, can you tell me if this is hay or straw?' and 'Can you look at my horse as I'm trying to tell if he's lost a shoe?'.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgghhhhhh!

People who say that cobs arent jumpers and are lazy

Borrowing stuff that is still in packaging!!!!

Ones telling you how to treat your own horse

People who come into the arena when your still working your horse

Being told to sell your horse by ones, when it hits 10!!!

Stuff being used by people, when they have their own things.

My bloom medical case being used and nothing replaced!

Saddles being placed ontop of my saddle when there are other racks

My rugs being used

People who get a horse and never really bother with it!!!!!!!!!!!

DIRTY STABLES

People who criticise before finding out why so and so is rugged, or in, or out, or wears that bit, or this gadget. If you can open your mouth to bitch, open it to ask why first! You may either learn something, or help someone who knows no better.

People who think that their way is the only way and look down on or bitch about others who do things differently or do not come up to their high standards

There isn't a whole lot that really irritates me to be honest; particularly over here, however here are a couple of things which do (although they rarely, if ever, happen at my place).

I dislike people who are always sticking their noses into other peoples business and telling them how they should do things when the other person has not even asked for their "advice".

Anyone beating their horse - I've never been able to stand by and watch this happen.

ooohh yeah and parents who whisper or shout things to their kids as they ride past in the ring.....*shut the hell up and let them get on with it!* and then they let their kids talk to them like [****], even though they pay for everything

People who "borrow things" and either don't return them or return them in a dirty state.

People who don't understand why my horse will jump the moon out hunting yet I love doing 2 ft 6 hunter trials on him to get our confidence up because he's not very brave on his own and because its fun to amble round knowing he will jump everything and enjoy himself and I don't get too nervous (big problems with my nerves whenever it comes to doing anything "proper").

And last but not least... people who don't understand that my horse is my horse, my hobby and what I choose to do. I love everything about him which includes all the mucking out, cleaning tack etc - its what I do for fun. And no I would not prefer to go shopping in town for the day THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

First yard we were at there was a girl who went to horse college, omg she did my head in!!! Told me that im wrong when i lead my horse on the road, that you have to walk on the inside of the horse, now i was always taught to walk between the horse and the traffic incase the horse spooked and jumped in towards you! My friend was learning to ride on Mae and she said the only way to learn was to get on Mae, and kick her into a canter! Also she used to ride with side reins on.

I dont like people who get horses that are too much for them and then later moan about it.

People who push their horse too hard

Rabatsa you would hate me!! I talk to my lot!!!!!!

I always whisper something to my daughter when she rides past me in the ring. Generally it's "good luck darling."

I take my 9 year old cousin horse riding every weekend. She's in the beginners class. What really bugs me is all the parents that stand at the side and shout instructions to the kids even though they haven't a clue! Then the kids pay more attention to the parents instead of the instructor!

I was born knowing everything...how to ride...how to differentiate hay from straw...how to count shoes...but most importantly...where fog light switches are.

I appreciate sarcasm...if I can understand it!
I may not have been ENTIRELY serious about novices...as if I really hated them my line of work would have been quite challenging for the past few years!
Enfys - I think I love you!
