What is a Horse & Hound class?

On the schedules for some upcoming shows that I'm looking at for my children there are 'Horse & Hound' classes. Excuse my igorance but can someone tell me what these are and how they differ from working hunter.

normally a horse jumps, then the 'hound' jumps round with handler. and whole thing is timed, faults added for knock downs etc though might be different in different places

Horse and Hound class is when one person jumps a round of show jumps on a horse/pony then they pass over a whip or something similar to the second person who then jumps a round with the Hound.
Its judged on the fastest time wins and its pretty good fun!
