Can anyone tell me the purpose of a Market Harborough and how does it work and fit, please?

I am wanting to know this to further my knowledge/education only and not because I am going to use one. :)

They are fantastic and I use them a lot. They are like draw reins in their action but self limiting and once the horse has relaxed into them they release the pressure.

Thank you, now I will be able to answer that question if I get asked it in stable management lessons.

Does anyone know how you fit it so it isn't too tight or too loose?

From above link...

"WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
- Improving acceptance of the contact
- Greater suppleness of the back through a rounder outline
- Improving looseness of the paces through suppleness
- Developing topline muscle
- Improving connection from hindquarters to the bridle by forming the right outline "

Does it really do all this on it's own? Sounds like a wonder tool!

Only when applied with good old-fashioned commonsense and horsemanship :)
