As in the title!

I have entered Richmond BE 90 (this Sunday-AHHH!!). This will be mine and my horses first BE event.

Depending on how Richmond goes, was wondering about Brooksby Melton for my second???

I have never been to the venue before so have no idea what it is like. I would be interested to know your thoughts.

Plus it is going to be a 3 hour drive...is it worth it????

Decisions decisions!!!!

Thank you in advance!

I am also interested in what the consensus is on Brooksby; I'm looking at it as a confidence giving BE run before Askham Bryan for the orangepony after our confidence-bashing double rotational.

Plus, like Katiejam, its not exactly close so rather limited local knowledge!!

I did the unafilliated ode last year which i think was a mixture of 90/100 fences? The course was quite an old fashioned galloping course which was spread over a number of fields, often incorporating hedges, walls etc between them. There was a on/off bank, a double of steps up, a trakehner and an open ditch from what i remember. Quite a fair course from what i remember, not the most technical course i've done at that level but quite a few more up to height meaty fences. I'll be going back when pony is fixed!

Thanks you! And thank you for the link! I have never seen that website before. I am now really scared as my horse doesn't do ditches! I have entered Richmond this weekend. Schooled round the course after Richmond(1) and dont remember a ditches (hence why i have entered!). THere is one on the photos! Very nervous now!

How did you get on at Richmond? :) Brooksy is nice, a good old fashioned course, but good for galloping! Not sure if the ditch is in the Intro, but it's generally quite inviting, although the bank is early in the course :) I am aiming to do the BE90 or 100...
