I have come to conclusion that competitions called ‘eventers showjumping’ are highly successful because
1. They are cheap (clear round) let’s face it with a novice entry now in excess of £100 the eventers need to save money somewhere
2. They give out times, a god send if you have a yard full of horses and don’t want to spend your entire day freezing your wotsits off amongst the bling at BS
3. Smart will suffice. No show gear needed and especially no BLING
4. You will get sympathy from your fellow eventers if (read when) your fit eventer comes out a bit wild, and will avoid the raised eyebrows from the bling BS crewe
5. But really it appears just a good opportunity to have a bit of a catch up & laugh with your mates
Anyway, having been a bit unruly last week my giant carthorse returned this week for his first crack at 1.20 with some amusing commentary to go with it!!
