What is having your hat tagged ? in Pony Club

My friends daughter has just joined pony club and is going to her 1st 2 phase jumping and hunter trial. In the rules it states that you must wear hat which must be "tagged" Is this someting put on the harness to show that is is a current standard hat or what ?

yep exactly right for pc its a bit of purple tape with PC logo on to show without having to take off that its correct standard. BE do the same with yellow tape

yup, means you get to get a pretty purple (think pc is purple) band to wrap around one of the harness straps. Just means that the hat is of the required safety standard

Believe you get one from the secretary

Just take the hat to the sec when you collect your number. They will put a tag on the harness to show it meets safety standards. (first check it does, details on pcuk.org )
