Hi, I got Paddington as a 10 week old pup who was apparently the last of 12 in the litter. He was digging holes in the garden with his mum when I first saw him - she was def full Vizsla (and gawjus)!

Owner was a bit of a halfwit and said dad was a pointer though had no pic for me to see and didn't know if German or English.
3 pups were brindle and 9 ginger.

So many people (including vet) told me he was more great dane than pointer though this is ob not the case.
Can't really see pointer in him - maybe ridgeback? If so where does the brindle come from? Any ideas guys? I'm happy that he's a mongrel and makes no diff what he is, just be nice to know.
Here he is from 12 weeks to now (will be 2 in April):

His face in the first 2 pics looks 100% Ridgie. His body,, and face in the last pic looks Dane. So I would say dad was a Dane x Ridgeback

He's bleddy 'ansum, just my type of dog

I wonder if he might be crossed with some kind of mastiff or dane as kibob said - the brindle colour & his wide chest reminds me of a bull mastiff type...?
Whatever he is, he's lovely!

Gorgeous dog! Me wants!

In the adult pics he looks like great dane to me, but in the pup pic i would say he's more mastiff-esque, so maybe dad was a mixture of the two?
Can't see any pointer in him to be honest

Aw thankyou all - he really is a lovely chap and although I hope to work him a bit (my other dog does) he's just my little mate really. He is ridgy sized and don't think he will get taller but hadn't thought of dad being crossed with something else......... hmmm

In a couple of pics I also think Ridgeback x Great Dane. Like you said does it matter he's soooo gorgeous

Thanks everyone for your input - passed on messages of adoration - big mistake, chest now puffed out even more than usual and is positively swaggering past Hector with a smug face!

So I told him that the overwhelming result was he was most likely a pig x weasel - Hector nearly snorted his breakfast out of his nose

Lmao! You meany!!!

Sorry didn't reply earlier, I can definately see the vizz in him but agree with others that dad must have been something heavy set, I would say a dane (although I'm not sure on the logistics of that when mum was the vizz!!)
