what is it about horses the littlest things make u smile like a loon

pointless post really just wanted to share the love
i don't have my own horse currently at uni so i have been exercising other peoples horses mostly to get them fit before owners sell which although i have been getting lots of riding in and made lots of friends can get a bit disheartening, as soon as you get to know a horse it gets sold, i am on my third pony since xmas and not really bonded at all.
Any way i have been riding baby Clydesdale 3 weeks now just hacking and getting to know each other he is very sweet but very much an insecure baby who has been turned away for a while so we have gone right back to basics. i don't have to feed him etc. just go up and be the mean lady who makes him think and work. i went up to see him today after a horrible day with a stiff painful back generally feeling awful and sorry for myself and as soon as he saw me he came over to the gate away from his new haylage bale (we have no grass at all) and waited for me really cheered me up and made me smile. i think he's starting to like me :D:D:D:D:D such a good boy today no silliness at all actually get to keep this one for the summer too :D
 
a very cheeky horse who sticks his head over the garden hedge to greet us when we pull up in the car!

When we catch him he generally has a treat for being good etc, the other day he came running up and we gave him his treat before sticking the head collar on, he grabbed it, turned, did a massive buck and ran up the field farting very pleased with himself, it was actually so naughty but very amusing! He then came back when called, obviously fancied his hack out afterall!
 
This morning when I went to see to Manni, I fed him and was leaning over his door watching him eat and he lifted his nose to my face and huffed oats and chop all over my hair - silliest things!
 
lol when i say to baby "put your noddle in there" she puts her nose in headcollar even if not by side of her head
mmmmmm with murph its the way if you ignore him he will put his head on side open mouth and let tounge fall out or put his nose on wall of stable and colalapse at knees till he disappears with only end of nose visable ( hes 16.3hh) - scarred saddle fittter to death and when you laugh at him his head shots up ears pricked lol hes so funny

I love my to horses to bits - so different but so funny
 
my mum once came to my horses stable after a brief visit visit to somewhere else on the yard to find that my horse had grown to 15.2 (shes 13.3). :eek:
turns out she'd put her front feet on a straw bale at the front of her stable and was like "look at me! I've grown!"
theres loads of small things like that she does, so funny :D
 
Once after toby had just finished his dinner and his mush was all wet he decided to stick his face into a pot of compost & BLEW !! When he emerged his face was no longer ginge but black haha. Was brilliant x
 
I love it when my lil man, will roll within 5 seconds of being put out in the field even if he hasn't been ridden or brushed! he is supposed to be a cremello :D We actually count from 5 down after we've taken the headcollar off, he never fails to make me smile

My other boy has me in stitches with his funky chicken dance every time we put his travelling boots on :D

Also the inane way he whinnies at any grey/white horse he see's coz he thinks its my lil man (his field mate) :rolleyes:
 
i've just moved mine from DIY livery yard to the paddocks at my in-laws pub whilst i'm on pregnancy-enforced riding ban. I was watching them from the house the other day, and Bunster was sticking his nose in the water trough literally up to his eyeballs, and blowing bubbles in it, before pulling his head out and spraying water jets at my Ginja ninja.

my OH was laughing at me the other day, as whenever i'm over there i cant stop watching them. wish i could have them at home and stare at them everyday!
 
We have a rescue mini , beaujangles , and although he has a field mate they are not pally at all , so when i go in to pooh pick he will run up and head butt me until i scratch him with the pooh picking rake , such a sweetie ,wish he had a proper itchy/scratchy mate , would save me so much time lol..
 
When my boy hears my car & screams at the top of his voice!! lol.. or when I lead him down to the field & he holds on to my hood the whole way or tries to grab my clothes & when I turn round he steps back like he wasn't doing it!! lol
 
Ok, things that make me giggle about the big hairy
- the way he will shove stuff with this nose (normally gates) if I say 'give it a shove'
- the way he eats a half swede down to a 'disc' then holds it in his mouth and sucks it till it crumbles!
- the way when he sees me coming to catch him he stuffs as much grass in his mouth as possible without swallowing!
- the fact that you can't leave him alone for five minutes without him picking something up and chucking it across the yard!
There are loads of otherthings but that will do for now :)
 
When tacking up my boy always feigns sleepyness. He'll have his hay in front of him and he'll still stand there, eyes closing. He'll have been alert and awake before tacking, and he's alert and awake once being ridden and he realises he's not going to get away with working :rolleyes:
what he doesn't realise is that it just makes it easier to tack him up, especially considering he still opens his mouth for the bit XD

Also I love it when my horse and my mum's horse share the salt lick that is supposed to be Jackson (my horse), and is hung up on Jackson side of the stable. Bobby (mum's horse) likes to reach over and steal Jackson's even though he has his own. Absolutely adorable watching them share though :p
