What is it????

I am not sure what this is but I noticed a brown bubble, blob type thing in my mares eye ball the other day. It sits next to the pupil and just looks like a brown liquid filled bubble. Just wandered if it is normal or something to worry about. She has no pain, swelling, discharge etc and has had no injuries. Any ideas???

are you sure its just not dirt filled sleep in her eye?

I could be that you are talking about "corpora negra" which are a normal feature on the upper rim of horses irises. But if in doubt get the eye checked out.

no, its not dirt or sleep in her eye!! its inside the eye nand next to the pupil. Looks like something out of a lava lamp but doesn't move.

I have just googled corpora nigra and that is exactly what it is. Cheers for that
