What does part livery consist of?

Im after the convience of full livery mon-fri and DIY at weekends. Will this be classed as part livery.

Think it is different at every yard. At my yard part livery is your horse cared for 24/7 it also includes hay, straw and feed. Basically everything except riding and tack cleaning!

It seems to depend on where you are and who you speak to!

To me part livery is all the basic care of the horse so: stable, turnout, bedding, feed, hay, muck out, rug change

This can be 5 day or 7 day part livery

However to others part livery is more what I would call assisted DIY

on a yard here, thats full livery for £120pw.

So what is assisted DIY? Maybe thats what I could do with as Im working full time.

Like I say, it depends on where you are as to the definition!

To me assited DIY is when you supply bedding/food etc and pay on top of your DIY for additional services, say turnout 5 x a week etc.

Full livery round me includes tack clean, groom, basic exercise on top of the part livery stuff

Assisted DIY is basically DIY but you have the option of the yard doing your horse when needed. For instance if you're working late Monday, Wednesday and Friday then you can ask the yard to do your horse on those evenings.

Part Livery can be anything from all care, stable work, and feeding without riding to a sort of cross between full and assisted diy (or at least this is my understanding anyway).

It varies between yards and is probably best to speak to your yard, or if you have good friends on your yard share the chores between you?

At my yard, Part Livery is full livery monday to friday then DIY at weekends

At mine, we have:

Assisted DIY - either feed put in am, rug change or TO, or BI rug change and feed put in pm, 7 days a week

Assisted (what I'd call part) - hard feed, hay/haylage bedding, rug changes, BI, TO, mucking out.

Full livery is assisted + exercise, groomings and tack cleaning.

For my part livery:
Rug change, feed, turn out in morning (i make feed the night before)
She is then mucked out for me, water and feed buckets emptied and cleaned.
Brought in.

When I come down, about an hour or so after shes brought in, I top up water, make feeds, make haynets, rug change.
