Having lent BOF my spare pair of stirrups

, I've decided I might as well kiss them goodbye and get myself some new flexi ones on ebay.
Am, however, confused by sizing. (I think I've asked this question before, so apologies in advance

) What is the standard stirrup size? 4.75 inches? Haven't got any stirrups here to measure. Also, how are they measured? outside edge to outside edge?
Thank you for your patience with absent-minded me!!

i bought 5" when i bought my horse in july... i have size 7-8 feet and used to ride in my chunky toggi boots and i still have pleanty of room in the stirrups

when riding in my normal riding boots i find them too big.

so id go for a 4.75" or a 5" if the boots are particualry chunky

have you not got another pair of stirrups you can try for size and see how much room youve got left?

Sturrups are measured the same ay as bits, iunside edge toi inside edge. To get your size just put youe boot on, place a ruler on the floor & measuer the width. Allow a litle for movement & that's your size.
