what do you think is the best fly rug on the market for performance, fit and price.

I think i have got to give in and purchase my 1st ever fly rug as the horses are getting stressed even when in their stables!

there have been loads of posts on this, esp in Stable Yard. i spent ages yesterday checking back through them before making my choice, fwiw.
general consensus seems to be that the softer ones are better.
Mark Todd ones have mixed reviews - some people think they're great, others say their horses sweat under them. for me, this was a deal-breaker.
i have 1 in an Amigo Bug Rug and she stood out in the sun all day on Wednesday (by choice!) and was cool under the rug when i brought her in to ride. she's lived in it 24/7 for months, hasn't scratched at all (she's sweet-itchy), and has very minor rubs on shoulders. she ripped it a bit but it was easy to sew and still looks fine.
after reading all recommendations i bought her a Rambo Sweetitch Hoody as her new main rug, will keep Bug Rug as spare when Rambo is being washed. Also bought Saxon Softmesh Combo for other mare, as cheap and looks decent enough. cheapest place i could find for those 2 was tds saddlers.
hope that helps!

I agree with K best i have found is Sweet Itch Hoody, stays in place, easy to put on and take off, comfy for Bud, drys quick of shower of rain. Value for money as such good quality.

For us it's the Loveson rug and the Shires fleece head mask. Both brilliant, comfortable non-rub and cool.
