Being driven crazy by bugs out riding and the current fly spray we're using isnt helping one bit! It smells nice but apart from that no help.

What fly spray do you use and price? :)

Thanks!

coopers is really good, its around £30 so quite pricey but it lasts forever as you have to dilute it. ive never known a horse this doesnt work on :)

Ditto to Coopers, it's brill stuff!
If you go on the hyoerdrug website it's on offer there at the mo at £19.99 which copared to tack shops at around the £28 mark is a big saving!

thats ace il have to buy a bottle for next year. the vet recomended flypo aswell u put a few drops don spine and it should las 3 weeks, i havent tried it but apparently its very good thats about £30 aswell but u get a big bottle and only use a few drops a time

I too have used Coopers in the past and yep, it does work. But now I use Power Phazer by Leovet. It absolutely stinks, but works!! The spray is about £17 and the gel is about £15.

I am yet to find one on the market with works with my horses which have sweet itch.

I have brought a spray bottle, fill it with water and put citronella oil, lavender oil and tea tree oil in it.

I also melt down vaseline, mix in sudocrem and put lavender, tea tree and citronella in that too, which is great for any scratch marks or anywhere the horse starts rubbing. Or even when you go out riding along the neck and chest, around the eyes and ears and on the rump and tail.

Which one is this? Ive had Coopers before and it was a lotion you wiped directly on. I found it a pain to use, especially when doing more than one horse. Didnt know they did one that could be diluted

^^^^I'v never diluted coopers before either! Great stuff if you want to buy your fly sray, lasts ages as can get away with applying it every 4 days! Contains permethrin.
I make my own though, I use a bottle of avon skin so soft dry oil spray in soft and fresh, a quarter of a bottle of white vinegar, a cap of dettol and then top spray bottle up with water. Can add essential oils too but my two have quite sensitive skins (although coopers is fine on them!). Find this homemade spray works really well.

I use power phaser Also - it stinks ! but from watching her in the field while others are swishing and twitching she seems to be at peace and comfortable - although there is some days when there just seems to be no helping with flies

Ditto power phazer! I have literally tried every fly repellant out there but none work. i was recommended this by someone in a local tack shop. I use the gel and so far so good. 2 happy horses with no irritating flies around them =) oh and i paid £15 for it.

I use Coopers on my mare tho I`ve never diluted it either, it doesnt say that on the bottle. And I know you`re supposed to wipe it on with the sponge supplied but I think this just soaks it up so I have a spray top off a spray bottle and spray it on.
Luckily this works great as its the only stuff I can use or she comes out in lumps.

This :) wiping it on was a pain, so I got an old spray bottle. It didn't say to dilute though?! I apply it around twice a week xx
