I am currently trying to sell my dressage horse but don't appear to be having ANY enquiries! Can anyone giving me any advertising tips. I've placed an ad with H&H and it will be out on thursday, she is already on all the major sales websites - any other ideas?

Is the market just stale at the moment?

Also how do i ensure i have valued my horse correctly - i've tried looking at other adverts but they are all conflicting!

Hows she bred, how old, how many BD points, what level is she competing at? Then il give you my view on what shes worth!!!!

Sorry i made a typing error he is a he not a she!!

We aren't talking 5 figures!
He is 6 and still green. He was placed at first competition (prelim). He is naturally very elevated and has a great attitude towards his work - all noted by the judges! However i have to take into account that he is blemished - bog spavins on hocks, he was passed as totally sound by the vet only 2 weeks ago.

I have found the same at the moment, advertised my dressage mare for sale but really not had much intrest which is a shame as she is super!

Id definately say no more than 4k then, as the dressage market these days is all about breeding, also the fact that hes not really done much and is already 6 will put a lot of buyers off im afraid.

I think you are going to struggle unless the price is right because of the spavins. Is he easy to handle etc, nice to hack out? You might do better to sell him as an allrounder.

Any change you could get him out at Novice and collect a few points over the next few weeks? I wouldn't look at a dressage horse aged 6 without some competition mileage.

If your horse is the 17.2hh chestnut in Cheshire on the H&H site....

My first observaion would be that you don't state if it is a mare of a gelding

The first picture is reasonable but the jumping one in particular is poor. Also, if you're selling him as a dressage horse why are you bothering with jumping pics ?

To be honest, the price would put me off for a horse with a 'blemish on hocks'....you don't go into more detail in the advert. There are plenty of other unblemished horses for the same money

He's also a big chap which might restrict your market a little.

The bottom line is your advert doesn't jump out at you when browsing....sorry.
