Can you bit experts tell me what the difference is please? Is there a differnce between the two regarding what the horse feels?
Many thanks

I think the loose ring gives more feel as the horse feels subtle movements of your hands a bit more, and an eggbutt can help with steering like a full cheek would but obviously to a lesser degree.

Maybe an eggbutt would mean less jiggling with un quiet hands so might be better.

I used a loose ring for ages but occasionally when madam tanked a bit I found the bit ring could go into her mouth as we tried to turn - so for me a fixed (in my case hanging cheek ) snaffle was better for my limited skills (I could have added rubber 'biscuits) to the bit but she liked the hanging cheek french link better)..
