I would like to know, what is the difference between side reins and a bungee for lunging purposes. My side reins have elastic inserts so will there actually be any difference???
the bungie rein allows the horse to turn there head completly to either side, side reins only allow a certain amount of movement (depending on how you fit them). Thats the only difference I find. (I am refering to the Barnsby bungie / Libbies lungie bungie.
A bungee encourage long and low head carriage and hopefully a correct use of the back and in turn hind quarters. Side reins hold the horse in an outline similar to that when being ridden, personally I think if you're going to lunge in side reins you may as well just ride.
