But they don't appear to have a search facility to look for horses that once competed but perhaps no longer do..... any ideas?

thats odd, mare is comes up and she hasn't jumped or been registered in ireland scince 1996, it just says that her membership has expired, but shows all her details,

Yes they do, just type the horses name into animal name, you can do partial words incase you haven't got the name quite right. Dolly is on there and she hasn't jumped in Ireland since 1999. Its a really good site, far better than the BSJA as you can see every class they went in and not just the ones that they won money in

Exactly! I'm looking for a horse who is now 24 and hasn't competed for years but I don't know who to search that record as the site isn't very clear.....or is it just me?

Wow thanks for that, I have just found my mare's sire ( he isn't that good TBH, but still!) and can now track down her breeder. A little mission is now in progress!
