It's the registration number of the horse, usually on the front page, and also inside of passport.
Will be found with most horses of known parentage , ie if you have a native, and its breeding is known, it will be registered with the relevant breed society who then give it a registration number to identify it.

Looking at her passport, I can't see a number like that. She has a life number, but that is very long, 7 there is no way it would fit in the box, so I doubt that's it. Where can I find the passport number?

no breed society, & parents unknown (At least not in passport). Has passport from the horse Passport Agency.

What type of show/class are you entering? If its a registered show then it could be ur registration no. For that organisation

It's working hunter and ridden pony. Local agricultural show.

Does it specify if the class is for Registered or unregistered horses?

Its only needed if you are required by class regs (for the class you are going in) to have the horse/pony registered with xyz society (eg: native ponies, clevelands etc etc)
