(I thought I'd put this in here rather that the comp riders because I thought I'd get more replies)... Something that has jumped around newcomers tracks, is sane at a show, really knows it's job, must be 17hh +, I don't care if it's a sod to shoe clip etc, stable vices not a problem? Am I looking at paying a fortune for something like this?

thanks in advance

Judging from Horse quest £8k
Diesel Dogs horse would suit you he is a lovely boy. Jumped Foxhunters.
There is a 4yo for £3500 blimey seems cheap (sorry change of subject!)

depends how much further you want it to go! Because of the bigger size and the handling you could look at 3k up in my opinion, it also depends a lot on age. There are often some very good ex grade As floating about who although in later teens will happily go round 1m15s all day long but will no longer do the higher classes and they can be very cheap especially if owner is after a good compentent home.

Well I've decided that the gutless wonder (aka big bay horse) will never be a jumper because she is just so damn spooky so I think she'll be suited to a life of white dressage boards

I want something thats a good confident jumper to teach me something and that I can go out on and gain some miles jumping affiliated tracks. It would be nice if I could go higher than NC with said horse but it's not essential. I was expecting to have to pay alot more that 8k for that type of horse but the horse quest prices seem very reasonable

If this one has done County WHs then it has jumped 1m20 tracks!

and there is a 9yo jumping discoverys for 2.5k
a 16h3 9yo imported Grade A jumping 1m25s for £8k
A very talented 5yo qualified discovery finals this year from down my way for £8.5

You can easily pay a lot lot more but if you look around you can find cheaper especially if you are willing for them to be not so perfect in some respects

Now I like the sound of the Maximillion & Voltaire ones, oh and the 16.3 9yo Grade A. It would seem like such a waste buying a decent jumper and downgrading it to doing 1m opens though

Would you mind if I PM'd you when I really start searching, your pretty damn good at finding the type of horse I'm after
