I seem to be pretty good at not forgetting stuff for my self (it all used to live in teh lorry), but have been with others who have forgotten saddle, bridle girths prety much anything you can think of. When grooming we were SJ before an event and phoned to get times and realsied we were missing a horse. Luckily a neighbour was heading the same way and picked him up.

We went to a team PC comp some years ago - with all the team horses in one lorry and we left one of the riders behind!
His mother was like 'well he's not riding until later so so snd so will drop him up in a couple of hours'. when we got there we checked the team list and found out he should have been riding in the morning with us! We stuck his much younger sister on the horse who was such a good schoolmaster she got a double clear!

Also as a child, I was left at the RIHS, the first time it was at Hickstead!!!! 1st people supposed to be bringing me home forgot me, and the 2nd lot lived miles away so I had to stay overnight with them until someone could come to get me!!
Forgotten twice in one week, surely the social services should of been called!

Think I've forgotten most things over the years as a rider and a groom.
My first event of the 06 season, which was about 3 hours from home, I forgot my bridle along with my dressage bit. Luckily they had tack stalls so bought a cheap bridle and bit and finished on a winning dressage score

Went to hunter trial without a hat... been showing with everything except pelham! Got halfway to championships and realised I'd left numbers and lorry pass on my fireplace.
Fortgotten girths so many times!! keep one in the lorry spare now, and a set of spurs, whip and hair net just in case!

a friend went eventing in a 6-horse lorry with no horses, the riders thought the grooms had loaded the horses, and vice-versa... i can't believe they didn't notice the weight difference, but apparently not.

My mare! We were taking all three to a show luckily it was local and as she's so quiet i thought mum had put her in but we just had the two boys! Luckily Dad brought her along in the trailer just in time for her class which she won without any working in time
Mum's one for forgetting things, we've over the years forgotten so much stuff hence 2 sets of everything and one now lives in the lorry! Except horses of course!

couple years ago whilst jumping sj course forgot which way to go, didn't get the big E but very embrassed for being a complete numpty

I also now take at least 2 girths/numnahs/bridles etc when competeing. Haven't ever forgotten the horse, but once didn't actually shut the door on the trailer properley, it was happily flapping around, thenkfully we live 5 mins down a really quiet road!!!
My sister used to always forget her medical armband when we were younger, so she just used to use mine!!! (not recommended though, as were very different!!!)

my friend forgot her hat when she went on a beach ride so our instructor gave my friend her hat and my instructor had to gallop full pelt round the beach with no hat on
i haven't really forgotten anything, but i dont compete much (iv competed in 1 show) and all my stuff stays locked in a bow down the yard
but i have left my phone in an ex-loan horses stable
luckily it was on a ledge and not near where his hay/water was

one time my friend and her mum came round and they have treeless saddles and forgot their girth for one of them, the bad thing is the girths are tiny and we didnt have one small enough so she had to go 2 hours without a saddle, hacking

Never forgotten anything to a show before, but forgot my girth once when I went to ride. Was a gorgeous day if I remember right and was about to tie my saddle on with bailing twine!! (I didn't tho obviously lol) Couldn't have ridden bareback as horse had been in the stable for a week and was going through a bronco phase

3 horse (only for 3 miles so doesnt count does it)
4 trailer lead
5 numnah
6 my way round XC course
7 temper/soh
8 jods (had to borrow g/f size 10 - I'm 6'/38"...eeek!)
Living with no brain really aint fun at times. Thought that was it but just remembered :
9 bridle left on ground after event (recovered in dark that night)
10 another crop left on ground after fall, recovered next day
11 hat - knicked a mate's without asking as temp measure, then found I'd lifted our yard groom (f)'s pretty blue one!
12 money

14 lorry fuel

I forgot my martingale stops!
Had to borrow some, as had no hope going XC without a martingale!
Forgot my dressage test!
Forgot to take my previous class's rossette off going into another class, and judge disqualified me
Forgot my boots, had to wear some 3 sizes too small,, Corr, BLISTERS!!!

My old boss forgot the horse once,got to the point to point ,pulled down the ramp no horse lol,blamed each other for a bit returned home always remember the horses face all done up to the nines with no where to go lol
