what is this?!?! (also in vet)

hiya x my pony has something on his chest. it looks like a wart....but dont know if horses can get these? ive noticed it being there for about 2 months.
description:
-black
-kinda lumpy (just not a regular circle hahahaha)
-looks like it has tiny scales!!! :S but that might just be skin lol
-looks like its just attached to skin at one point so kinda standing out...its hard to explain but it doesnt sit flat on the skin....only just attached
-very tiny (about the side of a hamma bead if anyone knows what they are lol)
-thought it was a scab but it wont come of!

sorry for the awful description with all those lovely technical terms
could it be a sarcoid??? im really worried coz they are cancerous arent they!!??
will post a pick tomorrow when i take one x

Probably just a wart, my horse has a few (one of which I accidentally clipped off!). He's had them for years, I had the vet check them once but he said just to ignore them.
 
could be a sarciod or a wart.
sarciods are usually pretty harmless as are warts. best keep an eye on it- sarciods can grow and become unsightly.
take a piccy or ask others on your yard to have a little lookie? :D
 
Sounds like a sarcoid - but if the vet confirms it and it's in an area where there's plenty of skin the vet may be able to band it. Cuts off the blood supply and it drops off. My old horse had one and had it banded - it dropped off within 48 hrs and never came back.
 
thanks guys x the vet is coming in july i think for vaccinations? will he be ok until then or shall i bug mum to get the out sooner? :) x

If it grows significantly or starts opening and weeping I would get the vet sooner, however if it stays dried, wrinkly and the size it's at, I would be tempted to wait. Good luck with whatever it is getting sorted out!
