Not lame on it. No other signs of injury. Inside of off hind. Fingers for scale! Is hard and lumpy almost like bone and doesn't move around. Came up a few days ago. Have been cold hosing.

Other cuts are from her own hoof when she lays down...!

Excuse manky leg

Splints can affect the hind legs it's just less common and it would be the right place for it. If you've dealt with splints before does gut feeling say 'splint' to you? I.e, does it feel hard to touch?

Alternatively if she's catching herself when she lies down could just be a bit of swelling from a knock in a tender area.

From the H&H website:

False splints in horses
False splints occur as a result of direct external trauma to the splint bone itself, such as the striking of the inside forelimb with the opposite leg, or kicks to the outside splint bone during field trauma or injuries. A bony lump forms where there has been bruising and damage to the periosteum covering the bone.

I probably would say it does feel like a splint, just a weird place.

Wish I could wrap her in cotton wool :( She seems to be forever taking chunks out of herself despite being in with my very submissive gelding in an electric fenced paddock with no trees or anything other than grass in it!

Mine has a couple of hard lumps here too, and I think it’s probably him striking into himself. I would describe them as splints from trauma.
He’s not lame either. So I ignore them now.
