What is this?

I've always noticed a weird "notch" in Ned's neck, but I have no idea what it could be. It doesn't cause him any pain and as far as I can tell, it doesn't restrict him in any way.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Also, would it impact on showing him in-hand?

Quite common, seen loads of them in racing. Was told by the vet that it's where the foal had it's hoof in it's neck as it was growing inside it's mum and the body had to grow round it. Never does them any harm it just looks weird.

A Prophets Thumb Mark is generally higher up, on the muscle and very much shallower.
