I haven't a clue!
The top looks like it held the two cylinders that fitted into the holes but what the heck they were for goodness knows!

Is it definitely anything to do with horses?

I think you will find its an old fashioned gramaphone minus the works. My Dad used to collect them and had a similar one that still played, the holes at the front would have been speakers and you controlled the volume by stuffing a rag in them!

Sorry, I have no idea if its horsey or not, I've been set the task to find out what it is....a case of 'bet you can't find out' so no don't have any other pics.....its driving me to distraction!!!!!!!

Cheating.. In future, save the photo. Head over to Google images, and in the search bar, just before the big 'Search' button, is a little camera. Click that, and upload the photo. It then trawls the net searching for that photo or similar.
