She was due to foal in three weeks, so very sad, especially as the poor horse was found by the owners 7 year old daughter. The mare had gone into labour but the foal had died.

There is absolutely no evidence at all in that story, that anyone had touched the horse.

Horses unfortunately can break their legs all by themselves in the field - I've seen it happen more than once.

Of course, an emotive story with her 7 year old daughter finding the mare, and a 'Go Fund Me' is likely to attract attention.

The poor woman also suffered a fire last year, another emotive story featuring her then 5 year old daughter, with another 'Go Fund Me' page...

This, the title of what’s wrong with people should be aimed at the owner not some imaginary culprit. Sad things just happen sometimes.

I'm with Shils on this. There is no evidence of human involvement.

The article says the other horses had got out of where they were supposed to be so it is entirely possible the mares got wound up and went for a hooley. This poor mare could quite possibly have slipped and whacked her leg off the shelter that she was found behind. Or she could have skid stopped and snapped it then. They say another horse had a bruise on its face. Unless you clipped all the hair off of a pink skinned horse you wouldn't see a bruise. If there was a bit of swelling we'll that could have been caused by anything.

At the end of the day we don't know what the ground in the field looked like and I doubt we ever will as it wouldn't fit in with the narrative of someone else doing this.
