I seem to be in a spending mood!

What product do you really rate? Grooming, medical, feed, rider equipment, whatever really.

I'm not sure I have anything I'd tell people they must try.

Protexin quick fix syringe is very good for short term upset gut.
Tricklenet Softee is great for slow feeding.
Erm.....

What can I buy that won't disappoint? I've 3 cobby happy hackers with no real issues.
 
Without a doubt hands down my le mieux long riding coat. I never take it off at the moment and it’s never let the rain in, is super warm and you don’t need loads of layers underneath it and also really wind proof too. The quality is amazing. Without a doubt the best thing I’ve ever bought for myself and no I am not sponsored!
 
Equidry, set of Haas brushes, full set of Red Horse hoofcare products, Supergroomer, Nibbleze haynets (way better quality with a better closure system than trickle net IMO… also they did the whole knotless thing first!),
 
Home bargains: Medicated body powder to help with slightly thrushy hooves. Red medicated shampoo to get rid of mud fever. Both great products at very little ££.

Horse wise, cashel riding fly mask.

My recommendation is a joint supplement Flexi Joint as it really works and really helps mine and livery horses.
The other thing I swear by is Colikare the first go too with colic while waiting for vet.
Another is Collagen for ligament repair from Netherlands Pharma horse again results speak for itself.

Im not au fait with many rug systems. The liners are often mentioned on here - do they fit under any rug or does the outer rug have to be specially made to fit a liner under it? It’s a daft question but i’ve no idea!
 
OP, i dont know if you suffer much with midges over summer, but having some large bottles of baby powder in stock is useful for under belly/udder midge bite prevention worked well on my mare last summer. It’s good for drying the midges, they hate dry conditions and die, and the mild scent is off putting for them to bite.
My mare is skin sensitive to many equine chemical coat/skin products, but was fine with generic baby powder as its designed for sensitive baby skin.
Also, in summer, it helps prevent under leg/udder sweaty stickiness.

There are quite a few different manufacturers do liners for their rugs. You just need to search online to see which do.
 
Thank you for some great ideas. I do wonder what I'm doing, it's not like I have spare money at this time of year.

It really looks like everyone is telling me I need an Equicoat. Aren't they too warm though? I'm a cold person but get boiling mucking out and doing haynets. I'm forever adding and removing layers.

I've got a lot of the products already mentioned so good I'm already on the best stuff. Some to look into, I fancy the eqwax range and had never heard of nibbleze nets, they're cheaper than trickle net so I'll give them a go.

Also good shout for thinking about summer flies. I'm still very much mud-minded but it won't be long til it's mud AND midges.

You actually need two. A thicker one for shows, clinics, horsey days out and yard work in the absolute worst weather. And a light one for riding, hand walking, and wet but slightly warmer days 😛
 
Colin Cook Thermaluxes. I have one that I've been using since about 1993 that's been a cooler, travel rug and stable rug for various horses that's still on and off my current horse all the time.
ETA Also biothane bridles and harness, it baffles me that some people are still using leather!
 
Equilibrium massage pad - keeps the fidgety one happy for plaiting, warms the PSSM one up before exercise and appears to be enjoyed by everyone. It's at least 10 years old, was secondhand when I got it, and is used sooo much

swish have attachments at the neck and attachments at the back so the liners don’t move around under the rug a lot of makes are compatible with each other though.
