As the title says just wondered what your daily routine is and what time you feed your horses etc every day especially those out 24/7 in the dark winter months.

Mine are put 24/7. They get a small feed and check from 7-8. Another check and poo pick in the afternoon. They are not being ridden just now. I put some hay out if the ground is very frozen otherwise should have enough grass to last the winter which makes things a lot easier.

Mine have a mix of either in at night or brought down to small paddock with big field shelter.
Routine on work days is:
6am (I drive nearly 4 miles to yard each way) feed, muck out, turn out, make up feeds, leave yard totally ready for PM visit.
5.30pm straight from work; bring in, feed, change rug if required (usually not) or just brush over to check. Poo-pick (sometimes I give myself Mondays off from this tho)
Non-work days:
arrive 7 - 7.30 do chores & ride about 8 - 8.30, then tea-trolley run anthing from 4 to 6.pm, to suit myself/them.
Also jobs such as topping up field waters, filling nets etc, neither of which are done on work days :)

On yard by 6am in winter. I have 2, both in at night, out in day. Feed both. Whilst they are eating I fill haynets and do water. Turnout then muck out. Need to leave for work by 7. 4.15pm bring in to a feed. Poo pick field whilst they are eating. Exercise the youngster in school, groom both. Go and get my tea!! Back out about 8pm to skip out, refill haynets sort rugs then feed.

In summer they are out 24/7. On yard by 5am to ride before work. Poo pick in the evenings and groom.

ours are out most of the time - only in for dinner each evening for an hour or so... so the routine on those days is that Dad checks them when he gets up (about 8 usually), counts legs, adjusts slipped rugs etc, and checks the trough and that they've enough haylage. I go up after work, skip out the stables, make up feeds, bring them in, do feet, quick brush and replace rugs, and feed up. If I'm not rushing off to band then I'll turn them out after an hour or so, otherwise Dad lets them out.

They are in for the night before and after hunting... so on the evening before hunting they come is as above, but rather than a quick brush they get a thorough brushing and plaited up before feeding up. When we get back from hunting, Tom goes out for a roll and a run about, whilst Ron gets washed off, and when he's ready Tom comes in, gets washed off and they both get fed. The following morning they get a brush off and ridden from the stables before going out again. Simples.

means that even on a pre-hunting evening, stables only take me about an hour and a half which is mainly spent plaiting!

Out 24/7 at home. Checked about 7 am, hay if needed which is rare. Small feed about 6 pm and hay again if needed. I can see them from the window which makes things much easier. This time of year, they'll come in to the yard for a few hours on weekend days for maintenance. Riding is confined to weekends until about March :(

Two cobs, Welsh D mare & Trad/Gypsy.

Out at my own yard, at home, in about 2 acres (fenced off, can have more if req'd).

Routine: a.m. one feed consisting of a handful of soaked unmollassed sugar-beet; plus a double handful (sorry to be so vague but it works for me!!) of either Dengie Hi Fi lite or other low-mollassed chaff, plus a handful of hi-fibre cubes. Supplements: one scoop each of brewers yeast, linseed (micronised) and Biotin. Fed in the field at safe distance apart in case of any squabbling.

If not riding, they are left out until the evening when they have the same feed repeated. No hay at the moment as they've got plenty of grass and are both good doers.

At the moment (its a vile day, raining & cold) I've brought them into my "holding pen" which is a yard about 10m square. Some grass growing through, and hedge on two sides for shelter. They've got full haynets, and normal feeds. I shall probably bring them in tonight.

My fields are always very wet esp now with the rain; so I try to get them in at least twice a week and stand off the gunge; also if we're riding I'll get them in first thing and let them stand in the holding pen with a haynet to get their feet nice and dry.

Otherwise, and unless it's VERY wet; they're out at the moment 24/7 - the first Christmas for as long as I can remember when they've still been out 24/7. In previous years I've tended to bring them in at night, just to get them off the wet ground.

(Edited) sorry meant to say they're both in light ridden work at the moment, happy hackers; ridden approx three to four times a week, and when we go out we tend to be out for between one-and-a-half to two or even three hours doing medium work, mainly roadwork (walk and trot) with the occasional hoon if terrain permits!

Out 24/7.
I am fortunate enough to have them at home, so no travelling involved, and no yard rules, and I don't work.
None currently in work.
My only routine is that I don't have one.
They get fed at some stage in the morning and topped up as necessary, that's it.
No clock watching, no gate banging :D

Mine spent most of autumn on holiday so out 24/7 with an ancient pony for company. During that time, he was checked daily by the yard groom and had water buckets filled. No hay needed as loads of grass on the field.
He has been stabled over night since early/ mid Dec. They are out by 8am and come in anywhere from 2pm to 4pm depending on weather and who is doing the bringing in. On a nice day if they are happy, they will stay out until dusk. If the weather is terrible, they aren't that happy out until late so they come in earlier.
I try to make sure he is worked in the afternoons so that he gets the maximum amount of turnout, which is easier once we start to get longer days.

Unless it is one of my mornings to turn out, I get to yard at 8.30am, poo pick, muck out, hay, feeds made and waters. Bring both in and ride one. Once ridden one is cooled down (normally take dog for a walk), I feed then turn back out. Tidy up stables then head to work (about 11.30). If I'm turning out, I feed mine, turn the others out, chuck mine out when finished eating and do as above (except feeding). Also put hay out for grass liveries.

Evenings, I get them brought in for me as I work until quite late 3 times a week. Other evenings my OH does for me, sometimes have a couple of others to bring in too, but he is fine with all the horses.

At weekends I get to yard for 10am (unless my morning to turn out), prep stables and bring in around 11 am for hay and feed. Ride one after other, then turn out again about 3pm for an hour or two then bring in for the night. Normally spend most of the day at the yard on a day off and use it to catch up on all the other jobs I don't do in the week!

I have 1 mare on a small yard in my village.

Get to the yard about 9am, she's fed, tied up outside her stable with a haylage net while I muck out, do feeds etc ready for the night time bring in. When the others are ready I change her rug and we chuck out. Elz is on holiday at the moment so there's no riding involved.

I'm back in the evening at 5 or thereabouts to bring her in.

I work in a pub so this timetable suits us the best. In the summer she's out 24/7.

Horses are out 24/7

6.30 am Check and feed before work, usually there for about half an hour.
I usually go back out at around 5pm and ride before feeding, brushing and all that. Its summer at the moment form so I'm enjoying not needing to rug and having plenty of daylight.

Mine is in at night (had her 6 weeks now, being a TB and underweight when I bought her). She's fed/turned out about 8am daily. Brought in about 5-5.30pm with another feed but this will get later as days draw out.

At yard for about ten past eight - pull Kal out of his stable and feed the others. Kal gets a quick brush, he is ridden most mornings, rugged (if needed), fed and then turned out. I do a full muck out, leave bed up for floor to air/dry, wash all buckets, sweet/blow yard and in winter put hay out in the field and check/de-ice water trough if needed.

Back to yard at about 3, bed laid, topped up with clean straw (every other day), kettle boiled/copra soaked, feeds made, water buckets filled, hay/haylage put in stable (on the floor - no nets) - Pops comes in at about half three in the winter - half four/five o'clock in the summer. Groomed/checked over, rugs changed if necessary, hind legs bandaged, fed.
