I have only 4 rossettes with current horse as we are are very new to showing :) (2 shows so far) i have a lovely big 6th rossette which we got in our first dressage comp - its really big and has dressage written on the tail ribbon - its beige and brown :) i also have a vert strange 3rd rossette from the weekend which is yellow and tartan?? and we got a white *special* rossette for doing a very stressy prelim :o

So whats your prettiest rossette and your ugliest rossette?

Prettiest are the reserve championships rosettes I have from the BSPA, the worst is the one that I won when I was 18 months - so it is 45 years old, very faded and with teeth marks where I attempted to eat it, but is in my pride of place with the championship ones.

My favorite is without doubt my only first rosette, ever! It is lovely, with 3 rows of ruffles all in different shares of red and 4 different trailing ribbons... plus it says 1st on it ;)

My ugliest rosette is an "I took part in a pony day" rosette, which was given to me years ago, unfortunately at the beginning of the pony day, meaning that it still has remnants of the various types of dirt it accumulated during the course of the day! It was a funny green to begin with... now it looks like camouflage ;)

I don't know what is my favourite, but years ago, I was really excited about winning a big SJ class, the rossette had the sponsers name on it- Porta loos in big gold letters all over it!

my fav is my show champion one of course :D
my least fav was a 5th i got in sj but i got a rosette saying dressage league on it - odd! i think they'd run out lol!

My absolute favourite was the first one I ever won doing a Clear Round course (they had to lower the jumps for me and my fat little Thelwell) in about 1976 from a horse show in Enford. I was 13yo. I went round about 4 times and got 2 white rosettes. I still have them 36 years later and I am still just as proud of them!

When our SHetland stallion won his class at the Breed Show last year, I cried. Everyone pointed and laughed!

But tbh, the clear round rosettes are the most special!

My favourite rosette is a plain red rosette from Solihull Riding Club which I won with my previous horse when we did our first ever clear round XC. When I had him like most imported WB's he'd never seen a river or a XC jump. It was a huge acheivement. I cut of the tail of my rosette and it is in my sun visor on my car some ten years later. I lost my lovely Rommy in June 2004 but he the horse I acheived the most with during the short time I had him.

My favourite rosette is my champion rosette from Kent when Ella won both the sporthorse and hunter foal classes, and went champion.

My prettiest rosettes - I love the East of England rosettes.

The ugliest rosettes - the ones from Hadleigh Show - very poor quality, single teared, ugly.

Favourite rosette is the champion one!!! First ever championship we've won, was so proud :) It's burgandy, gold and navy, really smart and slightly different to others I've seen.

My favourite is probably the one I got for winning my qualifying round for Marriages riding pony of the year. I got a nice 1st rosette from the show organisers, and a special Marriages one, which isn't big, but it's the first showing class I've won, so it means alot to me :)
My least favourite rosette is a boring white and blue one which I got for coming 7th in tack&turnout, it's really flat and dull, but I was still pleased to get it!

My favorate is the 6th place one i won at Hickstead when i did the RC team sj. Its the only time our RC has been placed and the first time i ever jumped at Hickstead. Its the one with the tightly packed tiered and gold Hickstead emblem on the top. I dont think they do them like that any more but they where iconic of Hickstead when i was growing up. It currently sits on the photo i have of my horse taken at her last ever show where she came 3rd in a 3'3 class. Lots of memories there. :)

My first 1st place ones i won in a BN and Disco class are quite special as well.

My worst one is from a collection i got when i won a Equicross challenge at my local show, i won all the sections as well as overall so had some nice 1st place ones, championship ones and trophies but there was also a orange and black tartan one. It could have been nice but it looked really tacky :o

My favourite is a green and blue 4th place from a local show, the colours are quite unusual and it's quite big and impressive.
My least favourite are the single tiered velvety ones, they attract dust and look grubby, I much prefer triple tiered shiny ribbon!

Not had any velvet ones before, i thought they where all silk!
I got a really nice oval yellow and white one on thursday after coming 3rd in the dressage. Its bigger and more impressive than my other ones :)

I love rossettes :D

My favourite is this one:

Not sure how well you can see it but its got loads of layers to it and little triangles of dark green. Its lush.

Its also my one and only rosette from our first ever show, so I am a bit bias!

xxxx

I agree, the marriages rossettes are quite nice, I really like my finalist one and they help keep up the amount of red as I have so many green and purple ones! :p Worst rossette is probably a massive, really frilly one in a really odd bright green, I probably don't like it that much because it was from a rather unsuccessful show :D

My favorite is also my ugliest. I have an ancient 4th place rosette from 1975 that I got from a beginner's jumping class. It was judged by Sally Swift who wrote the book Centered Riding. She was a pal of my RI and used to stop out and teach a lesson now and then to all us kids who worked at the barn. Always loved her lessons. And she volunteered to judge some classes at our 4-H fun show.

Favorite one is the 4th I got with my old boy.

The reason it is so special is that it was for condition and turnout, my old boy was 37 at the time and beat a 4yr old.

It was a fairly large class and he also won a rossette for horse over 15 in the best condition.

I was so excited that we missed the ridden veteran lol

I have quite a few faves and they are my BSJA junior academy one, towerlands junior derby show and two chiltern and thames rider showjumping ones. They are all lovley with long tails and three teirs.

The ugliest one I have is one I got last year for being a leader at a gymkana at my yard and it is diamond shaped and two different shades of dark brown and it looks like poo lol

LOL, love this, my little girls first , red rossette is covered in teeth marks ;D

Her worst one is one that a kind boy gave to her, even though she had come first ( again!!! :)) it is a really scuzzy brown colour, but we still have it for the memory of a kind boy that thought she might like it, even though he prbably did not want the scuzzy thing LOL

my favourite one is my oval shaped one its got 2 layers with red and green and red green and white tail things its a secod but that was my ponys first show
my worst one was a green 3rd one its a manky green got it at riding school even though i won the comp they didnt want to upset the younger ones!!! not fair anyway i lost it lol

I have a revolting turquise, lime green and dayglo yellow one from a pleasure ride, my favourite is probably a BSPA one, our second ever show (first proper show), we were 3rd and 4th, and were in a mixed class of traditionals and show cobs - we were given a beautiful cream and dark green rosette, gold blocked with Best Cob on it, love it!

:) I used to make 100's of rosettes in that style for a Glos based RC.

:( Ironically, the only rosettes I have had in the last 14 years have been a bit of an anti-climax as I made the dratted things.

I got terribly excited when I was about 16 (long, long time ago) and got a TARTAN rosette with foot long tails for a Sponsored ride.
