so, what is your favourite feeling?
mine personally is that moment when your horse is being a tense giraffe and hollowed out and with a little 'squeeze' of the reins they drop down, round and relax... hard to explain but the best feeling ever! :D
that or the smell of a warm cosy horse on a frosty winter morning/night.
soppy, me? nooo!

The way both the girls terrify me every day when they race towards me to get the first scratch :o

But more the way my big girl snuggles her head into my arms when she feels worried (instead of rearing and fighting like she used to) and when I scratch her withers she goes all funny and gives the back of my leg a good scratch too (also very good for stretching her stiff shoulder)

Watching my boy playing in the field with his mates or when he roles then gets up, kicks his front leg out, bucks & goes all excited & silly.

When I get either 'that' trot, or 'that' canter from my lovely boy - you know, the ones I bought him for. Then I just ride round the school with a silly grin on my face. I even got 'that' canter in a test the other day for about 20 seconds. :) :) :)

And pony cuddles at late night checks, and my Sec A greeting me EVERY time I go on the yard, even if I have been gone for only 5 minutes and left him with the big bad EDT or farrier. ;) Or when my not very vocal 13.2 whinnies - yes it's usually because I'm REALLY late, but it's sweet all the same. :p

Ooh, and a new one - when my new boy stays lying down in the morning for cuddles - never had one that did that before. :)

I'm really just a 10 year old horse mad girl in a mid forties woman's body. :o

i love these, i tend to get soppy, pull them up and give them a pat/hug or just coo like an idiot 'GOOOOOD GIRL!!, SUPER GIRL, WEEELLLL DONEE!'

When cobalob gives me a rare and fleeting sign that she is fond of me - she is normally very aloof.

When my instructor shouts - 'yes, yes, yes, that's it, beautiful, lovely, lovely, keep going, well done, perfect!' :D

Mine is going for a flat out gallop! I can almost hear my pony shouting YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! Also when he whickers to me, not a "I want food" neigh, an "actually pleased to see me" whicker :O)

I also love the feeling of pride when I sit and look at my handsome ginger beast and remember he is all mine :D x

When he decideds he is going to trot off with me out on a hack, after a summer worrying about him because he was so backwards him taking charge and trotting off makes me laugh so much, he isnt strong he just trots really fast and if a horse could grin he would be. The new yard really seems to be suiting him he is happy in his work and confident now he isnt having chunks taken out of him in the field.

When he is screaming the barn down when I go to the car to get some thing and I arrive and ask him what the heck all that noise was for and he just looks sheepishly at me.

When he looks to me when he is scared, hes normally fiercly independant and doesnt need people so it makes me feel all happy when he looks at me and puts his brave pants on because I said its ok. On the same note when he follows me round the field like a big dog 'helping' me poo pick.

When he feels like he has springs in his feet over a jump, I love it nothing is ever a stretch for him.

When riding I love that time slowing feeling when you are in the bubble training or completing .
On the ground I just love in winter listening to them all eating haylage in the evening .

When my lad stands away from the herd in the field to have some cuddles with me before wandering back off to graze. He snuggles right into me <3

When I've had a large delivery of hay and I know it's in the barn, dry and smelling divine. Then, the sound of the horses munching on that hay...utter contentment for me and the horses.
