What are your thoughts on this situaiton please?
Mare 10yrs old shows signs of vitiligo [pink spots around her eyes and muzzle].
Limited TO in Winter.
Regular TO in Spring/Summer/Early Autumn - gets TO for three days solid usually.
Ad lib hayledge when in.
When in one feed for breakfast with supplement.
Now in Summer the pink spots get alot better, however when she is mostly in [Winter] they get alot worse.
Now ever since I have had her, I have put her on a supplement, it has only occured since I have owned her. The people who owned her before had her on no supplement.
So this is my quandry .. Is the answer staring me in the face??
Could the supplement be causing the pigment loss?
Could the hayledge have less protein than the grass?
Should I get her blood tested?
Would a feed balancer be better than a supplement?
Help
Thanks
