Hi, this season i would like to put something under my horses saddle thats not going to help the sweat stay under her saddle so much and irritate her skin as a result. Because my horse is clipped, after hunting her skin can get quite irritable as the sweat has dried under the saddle after hunting and stayed wet during hunting...what material is best to put under the saddle..i have to wear a half pad sheepskin, but what is best to put under that? a sheepskin numnah or a saddle cloth??
thank s xxx

A propper sheepskin is best - whicks sweat away - warm when cold and breathable when hot there are 100s of makes some more expensive than others but a well worth wile investment!!

A full one though not just a half pad though I have a generous half of sheepskin but its cut as a full numnah. - Lemieux and Nuumed ones last for ever and in comparrison to weight of a rider + saddle all day I doubt something comfy like a sheepskin would worry your horse weight wise..?

Thanks, also, i ahve recently bought a leather girth over the summe,r last year her skin got very sore under the girth after hunting because she was clipped and the sweat had dried and irritated her skin as i only had a material girth on he..would it prevent the irritation if i put a leather girth on her, or should i out a sheepskin girth sleeve on her??

Sounds like a sensitive nightmare - just like mine - sheep skin and to be honest I dont use a real sheepskin girth cover - just a synthetic one - usually black and cheap from Robinsons as they get ruined v quick so easier to chuck out rather than fork out for a real one
Hope that helps!
