What oh what should I do with this mane.....

I know someone has already said you have to plait but in your honest oppinion what should I do with the horse I hunts mane?

I would love to hog it but can't as he is shown during the spring summer and autum!


I need a way to get the mane out of my hands but to look smart for hunting as I'm going again on the 19th nov

Running plait - looks like your only option. NOrmal plaits would look like cabbages.

A running plait or the diamond thingy. Called a continentail braid on this website:http://groups.msn.com/informationonhorses/plaitingyourhorse.msnw (scroll down) It says how to do a running plait aswell. The continetail thing might not work if your horses mane is as unlevel as it looks from those photos, but it looks really good when it is done and with practise it is quite quick aswell, my sister found that it stayed in better than a running plait.

Wash it with fairy soap and apply gold label show highlighter and leave for 12 hours to get it sparkly white!

Then do a crest plait - but practise for a year before because it will fall out in 10 minutes the first 132 times you do one :grin:

i am not v. keen on hogged manes but they do suit some horses.

you could also wash it and then pull it really nicely!
