What oil to feed?

Going to pop to the wholesalers today and want to get my mare some oil. Mainly to boost her a bit, give her some shine and help her joints a little too.
Which oil is best? Vegetable? Sunflower? Olive?

IMHO either Flax oil as this is high in Omega3 rather than 6 (if artheritic) or straight sunflower seeds ....
the latter is cheap as sold as bird food so no VAT.

Flax is alsogrown in Yorkshire so you'd be supporting local farmers!

Vet told me veg oil is as good as any - up to half a cupful per day for my 14.2 native.

Flax is linseed, so you should have no problem getting it.

Don't dismiss corn oil, more palatable then veg and sunflower.

micronised linseed is the best oil source as it has correctly balanced omega 3 and omega6 oils non of the others do. If it is just calories then I guess cheap oil as long as it doesnt have rape seed oil in it would be fine. There is a link between rape oil and allergy to the rape flowers

I just used normal veg oil. Didnt see any difference between this, corn oil, and the linseed I used.

Normal Veg oil here too. Local supermarket think I have very unhealthy cooking habits!!

My preference is Linseed (Flaxseed) but Soya oil is also good.

I use supermarket own brand veg oil which is actually rape seed oil - works fine for us and has cured scabby knees to boot

Cheapest veg oil from the supermarket. All the fancy oils are mucho money for same benefit.
