Im looking to paint my trailer pink (yes pink) lol but not sure what paint to use and where from and wether i need primer on before the coloured paint as I've read a lot on here about not needing primer if using hammerite paint (but hammerite don't do the pink colour i want)

its a paint minefield .. lol . i obviously will sand the whole trailer down before any form of paints applied, also what do people use to paint the inside? (i want to do the bottom half pink and top half either white or pink ... maybe white )

many thanks ..Btw its a older rice trailer not newer one

Rice's are metal-sides? If so any paint suitable for metal will do. Hammerite's ideal as it's one-coat, no primer, tough, but sadly not in pink. You could spray it with car aerosol after you've primed it (with suitable aerosol primer). Otherwise I would just use an outdoor gloss paint for metal (eg paint advertised for windowframes) from a DIY store on top of suitable primer.

My Ifor's (some sort of fibreboard sides, not metal) painted in cartoon horses - done with artists' acrylics so multicoloured, then a coat of Ronseal varnish. Each year I re-ronseal it, the ronseal's gone yellow with age so the horses are all yellowy-tinged now.

yesit has metal sides :) ive looked at all sorts of metal paints but its confusing as some says use with this primer others say use with that primer ... theres too many products lol

i do plan on using primer anyway as most websites ive looked on say about using on top of primer (e.g .. sand surface > primer > colour base > clear varnish )

i wonder if diy stores can make up the colour? might be worth asking

ah wow that sounds lovely! id do that if i was artistic enough but im not lol

I used silver hammerite on the inside of my trailer (bottom half only), it really lightened up the inside.

We will need to see a photo of the finished trailer so we can see how pink it is!

oo i may have to think twice about the inside colour then hehe

yes will defo post a piccy but atm its waiting for the weather to cheer up and stop raining! first thing to do is the flooring and roof bolt things .. (dont worry my OH knows more of the diy stuff than me haha)

When I renovated a trailer a few years ago I sanded the paint so as to get a good key for the top coat to grip to. The roof however was aluminium & the paint was peeling badly so I removed all the paint off the roof. I then painted it with an etch primer. You need etch primer on aluminium otherwise the top coat will just peel off. I then painted the trailer with car paint, putting it on with a small gloss roller & used a small brush for where the roller couldn't get in. The results were really good with no brush marks. Don't skimp on the quality of the paint, it will look better for longer with the right [aint. Also the preparation is very important. The better your prep is the better the finish will be.

where from?

Agricultural machinery dealers but you wont get pink.

I cant remember if panels on a rice are steel or aluminium if your unsure try a magnet. Aluminium will be more troublesome as any bare metal will need an etch primer.
If you google for local Automotive paint factors they should be able to mix what you want and put in large aerosol cans for you.

Did you find your pink paint? I'm repainting my trailer and found a wonderful site that does metal paint in all the colours of the rainbow 🌈
