What product can i use on a mane that is getting thin in places?

One of my horses manes is very thin, i brushed it through yesterday and it is very thin in one place that there is nearly no hair there. It is not rubbed, just very thin. Is there anything i can put on it to encourage it to grow quicker? Thanks in advance.

I've got this weird, american bottle called M.T.G that claims it'll make hair grow faster. Haven't actually really monitored it to check though!
