Just want to pick all your brains to what rasps do you use on your horses feet? I've just brought a pro hoof rasp but not sure if I need a flat rasp too.
Plus what do you use for a foot rest?
Any recommendations welcome.

save edge (has coarse and fine sides)
hoof jack, bought 2nd hand and ££ but worth every bloody penny, used a car axle modified with foam on top etc but one both me and the pony were struggling with it I upgraded. It's not going anywhere even though I don't have anything to trim at the moment, just in case!

Reasons for struggling with axle is mostly lack of stability if they aren't resting a hoof centrally, and lack of width to get your feet on it to keep it stable for said situation, then it all comes crashing to the ground. Especially for top rasping IME.

There are other, cheaper options for stands, but having gone through them all I decided none came close to the HJ.
