bought it from a friend last year as a stable rug, but it feels a bit like a turnout, although i never dared use it as one as didnt know if it was or not. putting it on ebay so need to know, cant find one that looks exactly like it though

anyone have a clue?
thanks

ETS: hope this isnt seen as advertising, but i really dont want to say it is a stable rug if it is in fact a turnout! help!

Horseware`s normally have a label on the inside with details of the rug. What size is it (this will help as larger rhino stables have been amroon check for a few years)

If its a 6ft then it is a turnout, as all rhino stables with necks have been a maroon check colour for about 4-5 years. Rhino TO`S were navy check like the picture.

I am almost certain it is a rhino plus turnout because I've had a couple of identical rugs. It should say what it is on the label, normally says something like breathable, windproof and waterproof.

Pour a bucket of water on it

I also think it looks more like a t/o and thought the rhino stables were the burgundy check for aaages. That being said... my Rambo h/w stable (stable wug or something) *feels* rather turnout like on the outside but most definitly isnt.

Old Rhino pony range colouring but sizing is wrong, probably an elderly/end of line rhino - that colour was the MW t/o in the rhino range about 4-5 years ago

They never made a HW in that colour except in the pony range that I can ever recall (I practically live in the factory!!

I bought one from ebay last year, haven't used it cos it's too small (5.9) - didn't think Dotty would grow so much - and it was bought as a stable rug with neck. When it came, I thought it seemed more of a T/O though plus it had been reproofed too. The background colour om mine is more black than blue with the purple and green running through. Looks a real cosy rug.

I think it's a turnout too, those colours I believe are only used on the pony range now but my boss's horse has a turnout that sort of colour (mixed with mud now though lol) and he's definately not a pony! I think his rug is about a mediumweight possibly. So I'd say you were fairly safe assuming it was a MW Rhino turnout.

It's a turnout, they never made a stable rug of that colour.

I used to work in a saddlery and people would always be coming in with them that they'd bought off ebay and ask, so I would constantly be on the shone to Horseware. They also made these in M/W and H/W, the difference is the colour of the binding, one's strippy one's not, but I'm sorry I can't remember which is which.

Is it like a hard waffle feel on the outer? My TO doesnt feel like at at all, but defiantely is! It's got a silky lining which could be described as synthetic feeling.

It's a little M/W Rhino full neck turnout. I have a few of these; but without the neck as I dislike full necks.

I wouldnt have thought mine was a TO, not by the feel of the fabric. But, yes, it is a TO. Mine has the half neck, but otherwise is exactly the same.

Looks like a rhino turnout, could be either heavy or medium weight (how thick does it feel?), only the pony range come in that colour now but a few years ago they used to do all the rhino turnouts in that colour.

The older models of Rhino turnouts were of soft cotton/nylony material and yes they aren't as stiff as most T/O's. However the newer Rhino's are much stiffer. I think this is where the confusion is.
