I am moving my mare 250 miles on Thursday, travelling through the daytime. She is hunter clipped, and a good traveller. She is being moved via transporter so I wont be onboard therefore cannot check or adjust her rugs if shes cold/hot.

What rug would you travel her in? Im thinking full neck (thin) fleece with possibly a thin wicker show/sweat rug on top?

if it was my horse - who's also hunter clipped - i'd have her in her mark todd coolex with neck :)
on sunday on the way back from the beach she had that plus a fleece under it as was flipping freezing (ground frost by 4pm!) but she travels alone whereas if in a transporter they'd be other horses which wuld prob generate heat :)

ok thanks, its hard to know as I know they get hot travelling but also would be awful if she was cold for such a long journey. There will be one other horse on board for most of the journey. Hmm!

I would travel her in a no neck thin fleece if it is cold. She will be using herself on the lorry and keeping herself warmish on her own.

I travelled my mare who was fully clipped and in a thin fleece hunting and she came off at the meet really hot and sweaty.
