q in titile really! my horse has a hunter clip and its going up tp 14 degrees which is 1 of those annoying temps where u dont know what to do! i either have choice of m/w combo. m/w with l/w neck , m/w no neck. ( my m/w is about 200/220g) or a 70gram x
what rugs u putting on tomz? x

Ned 1 - nothing - no clip
Ned 2 - Nothing - Hunter clip but she is a beefy lass
Ned 3 - Lighweight (no fill) Hunter clip, more to keep her clean than anything else

My horse is fully clipped and will wear what he's been wearing for the past few weeks, which is a lightweight rug with no filling and no neck. He's more than capable of keeping himself warm in these temperatures, and a medium weight rug would be far too hot. I really only rug him at all because it's so muddy, to keep him clean.

If you think about it, 14C = 56F = a coool summer day. So: rain rugs on the TB (protect from rain) and cob (to keep her clean), nothing on the Welsh Section C. My late tomatoes are still ripening, so I'm not going to go soft too early in the year.

She's still in her rainsheet so she'll probably stay in that in the field to keep her clean.

She has been clipped but is very fluffy again, there's no point in clipping atm as she may be facing months off work soon :(
Tempted to put her out naked but the fields are starting to get a bit muddy and I can't be bothered with lots of grooming

My boy is fully clipped and I have put him in his l/w with no neck today....

Wish the weather would make its mind up ha ha ha
reckon it will be a real sudden harsh winter on way too.... :(

My boys out naked, but hes not clipped. Only wears a rain sheet if it's hammering down, which has once since I've brought him any rugs 6weeks ago.
And bless him he doesn't roll in the field so he keeps himself lovely and clean:)
