Hi all, i usually travel in a fleece but seen a nice sheet that im tempted by. Does anyone else travel in a sheet or are fleeces better? Thanks 😄

It depends on how warm it is. My native either travels in a fleece or a cotton sheet or cotton sheet combo. She has a new embroidered show rug for her champs in 3 weeks and im getting her a thermatex too in her colours.

An Amigo scrim cooler, they are shiny so help shine the coat and keep the dust away and are enough of a layer to keep any chill off

Depends on the weather. Our lot used to wear fleece and thermatex in cold weather, then fleece or thermatex if it was warmer (depending on how warm), smart string/ fly rugs if if was fairly warm and nothing if it was really hot. They were competition horses so had fancy rugs with logos for all occasions :p. The preference is always for something that will wick away the moisture once the horse has competed, as well as keeping the muscles warm. They were also fully clipped all year round. My own elderly mare, who is not clipped and never has been, tends to travel naked or else she gets sweaty.

I travel mine naked unless really cold. And then he had a PE fleece, I don't like most fleeces but that one is really nice and quite airy.

Depends on horse too. My cob, when clipped travels in his thermatex but my youngster gets very hot traveling so naked when not clipped and now reminded I wanted to buy one if the coolers with a mesh bottom section.

I travelled from the far north of Scotland (the really really north bit) to Cheshire in February and wrapped mine up as snug as a bug - they were covered in sweat at the first stop. It is surprising how much heat they generate when in a lorry. Not only did I remove the rugs, at the second stop I opened all of the windows as it was still too hot for them.

Depends on the weather but I use a Thermatex or Skrim sheet depending on what level of warmth is required. Much depends too on how well a horse travels and whether it's prone to sweating up during its journey.

I open all the windows every trip anyway, the damp air in an enclosed box is really unhealthy IMO.

Mine wear whatever the weather suggests. Cotton sheets, thermatex, fleece, or if it really cold a spare quilt. If it is hot he will be naked.

My cob travels naked as I only tend to travel during spring/summer/autumn and he always gets fairly warm.
If I was to travel when it was very cold and he was freshly clipped out, I would probably pop his cotton sheet on.
