Brought in a very soggy headed horse this morning as I foolishly purchased a standard neck medium t/o rug, thinking that as she is unclipped & thick coated, that she would always get too warm in a combo!

I also have a heavyweight combo & a lightweight std t/o.

Should I buy another medium rug with a detachable neck, a medium combo or just a med neck cover that I could attach to both my med & lw rugs?!

Or is she ok to just get a bit wet sometimes?!

Strangely, we have four who have lived out all winter, one without shelter, all unrugged all winter.

Non, yet, has shrunk, shrivelled or keeled over from getting wet.
Horses have waterproof coats.

despite some people believing it horses don't shrink, dissolve or die from a little bit of rain, think of the natives on the mountain and moors they aren't rugged and they have dissolved yet?

i would just keep her in what she is in, i only have neck rugs as my horses are clipped. when there weren't they didn't have neck covers they got on with it and they are tb's
