This weekend my sister and my Mum are going to Badminton, this means my very helpful but un-horsey Dad is in charge of the horses? It was easy for him last year because it was gorgeous weather so the stablecare was EASY-PEASY, they were out! I am getting worried today though because with this HIDEOUS weather they should stay in most the day!!! Is the westher expected to be horrid all weekend too?

They won't melt, just make sure they are nicely rugged up and have extra hay in the field if there isn't much grass.

As long as D is eating she doesn't mind what the weather is doing

Oh heavens, my horse has been roughed off all winter and I just had to bring her in for half an hour to wait for the farrier - she attempted to climb out of the back window, she hated it! She's now back out naked, despite having a lovely field shelter in her field, she is in the middle with her friend munching away. Honestly I would rather leave mine out in horrible weather than have to get a inexperienced person to look after them in the stable!

Good point, he is fine at doing the stables I'm probably just being mean to him! It is just he wouldnt know if they should stay in or not like us "pro's" can!

At the end of the day they won't come to any harm whether he brings them in or leaves them out. They might not appreciate the rain, but they won't melt.
Go and enjoy your day at Badminton and don't worry about them.
