What should I do? loan pony

Very reluctantly I was forced to put my lovely 14.2hh pony up for loan in febuary due to lack of stable and money! I have had her for 6 years and it was very very hard to let her go. Anyway I found a nice family who seemed to be able to offer her a quiet life doing the odd pc event for a while.
Last night the woman phoned up to ask about insurance etc. which was fine. Then she told me that she had had my pony shod for the first time since they got her today. That would make it 12 weeks! And to make it worse the farrier told her that my pony had corns.
I wrote into the contract that my pony must be well shod regularly.
I'm now really worried about my poor ponies wellbeing
What should I do?
 
I would say to her that she has never had corns before (if she hasn't) and that's because you have her shod more regularly. I'd simply say that you would like them to have her shod every 6 weeks (or whatever you normally do). Say it nicely though.
 
She certainly has never had corns before.
I always have her shod every 6 weeks at the most so I think double that time is quite shocking.
I will try that. I'm just worried that because she is now 3 hours away I will not be able to check up on her often
 
Have now talked to her and she says sorry but she did not think there was a problem because the pony was not lame!
Some people don't have the knowledge they claim to have!
 
I have a pony on loan for my daughter and shoeing on 6 week basis is in the contract .Ask if you can add it in its one of the most important things in her well being.
 
Explain that your pony has never had corns before and it could be a result of her not being shod often enough - tell them to get her shod every 6 weeks. If they refuse to do this then take her back and find her another loan home.
