Well you know Blacky has her weight issues so what would be best to do tomorrow?
my options are:
1) hack as normal (walk trot and canter up in the woods)
2) hack concentrating on trotting
3) hack concentrating on walking
4) jump her again - the jumps are only about 1 foot (i jumped her last week but she wasn't too happy about it as she prefers jumping logs up in the woods but there aren't many to jump, only about two)
5) any other ideas?

thanks

I have the same prob, and for the first time in ages I concntrated on trotting. H was very diappointed as he was up for faster, had one little canter. his face said it all when we started heading back !!

Have you thought about trotting cavaletti? It should really make her use her muscles and help with the weight issues. Do you ever ride up and down hills? That works really well too.

Yes trotting poles is exactly what I meant, only you could elevate them slightly. Six inches perhaps. There are dozens of books with trotting pole exercises that have worked wonders on overweight horses. Plus, they improve a horse's paces if done correctly.
